About the Speakers
Robin Bennett
Head of Department: Regulatory Compliance, Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board
With over 25 years in the gambling industry, Robin Bennett has extensive expertise in regulatory compliance and licensing. Beginning his career as a Financial Investigator in 1997, he has held key roles across both public and private sectors, including Chief Financial Investigator, National Compliance Manager at Luck Holdings, and Gambling Manager at the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board. Currently, he oversees licensed betting establishments and leads efforts to combat illegal gambling in the province.
Gifty-Rita Amoah
Deputy Director Legal, Gaming Commission of Ghana
Gifty-Rita Amoah is the Deputy Director of Legal at the Gaming Commission of Ghana, with nearly a decade of experience in the gaming industry and over 12 years in legal practice. She leads the Inspection, Investigation, Compliance & Enforcement Directorate and heads the legislative review team for the Gaming Act. She is also an Ambassador for Women in Gaming – Africa and holds academic and executive credentials spanning law, oil & gas, and economics.
Carla Bastos
Executive Manager: Audit, Mpumalanga Economic Regulator
Carla Bastos has vast experience in the regulatory realm of the gambling industry. She began her career with articles at PricewaterhouseCoopers before transitioning into gambling regulation in 2003. Since 2009, she has served as Executive Manager of Audit and has also acted as Chief Executive Officer. Carla contributes to global best practices through her involvement with the International Association of Gambling Regulators Statistics Committee.
Hosea Malope
Managing Director, Malope Monitoring Solutions
Maketse Hosea Malope is a seasoned IT and gaming professional with over two decades of experience. He previously served as Operations Director and CEO of Zonke Monitoring Systems, South Africa’s first NCEMS operator. In 2017, he founded Malope Monitoring Solutions, providing monitoring and compliance systems across Africa and Australia. Hosea is a leading advocate for technologies that enhance tax collection and regulatory compliance.
